Hank Rutherford Hill born April 19, is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Fox animated television series King of the Hill.
He lives in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, with his family and works as the assistant manager of a local branch of Strickland Propane. He likes to drink beer, typically Alamo brand, in the alley behind his house with his friends.
He is voiced by series creator Mike Judge. When Mike Judge submitted the pilot script and drawings for King of the Hill to the Fox network, network executives advised him that Hank Hill should be younger than 49 years old, as Judge had described the character.
Judge received a phone message from a network executive who told him that Hank's age should be 32, the same age as the network's average viewer. Judge later said, "I got all angry, and then I was like, 'Well, wait. It's just a drawing. Hank has been compared to Tom Andersonthe "disapproving old man" who is a neighbor of the title characters on Judge's earlier series Beavis and Butt-Head.
Anderson beleaguered, baffled Korean War veteran of 'Beavis and Butt-head'. But he's more in touch with contemporary reality sort of -- and funnier. Anderson's] son.
I was kind of thinking we'd tie it into "Beavis and Butt-Head" as a sort of spinoff or something, but Fox said no. His mother told him she gave birth to Hank in the women's restroom at Yankee Stadium during Cotton's failed attempt to assassinate Fidel Castro during a rare American visit.
After referring to himself as a native Texan for forty years, he was sad to learn he was born in New York, but over time, accepted his heritage when he realized that many of the Alamo heroes were not from Texas, either. Hank, who previously thought he was an only child, finds out he has a Japanese half brother named Junichiro in the episode "Returning Japanese". Hank is an Eagle Scout. Although he is traditionally conservative in his attitude, in how he dislikes change and novel situations, he can adapt to them quite well, quickly mastering unfamiliar social milieus.
Most openings of King of the Hill start with Hank, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer all agreeing to something before the action kicks in, drinking from Alamo branded beer cans. A running joke throughout the series is an angry Hank yelling "I'm gonna kick your ass! Hank's honesty and naivety often get him in unpredictable and troublesome situations. Ultimately, Hank cares for the people around him, particularly his family and friends and is always out to do what is right.
One characteristic that Hank shows is when he lies to someone, he turns his head or looks around the room. Hank is a known workaholic and workplace overachiever who sells " propane and propane accessories " as an assistant manager at the fictional Strickland Propanea local propane dealership.
Much to the discomfort of his boss, Buck Stricklandhe refuses to miss a day for anything; including sickness and injury, as shown in the episode called "Hank's Back", where he refused to go on Worker's Compensation after injuring his back on the job, despite repeated attempts at suggesting too much work will make him sloppy.
He even went into work when his hero Tom Landry died though he thought it was Dusty Hill making it up. When he gets a phone call in the middle of the night, he often immediately starts with the Strickland slogan, "Strickland Propane, taste the meat, not the heat", showing his dedication to his work.
Hank also has a habit of announcing himself as "Hank Hill, Assistant Manager, Strickland Propane", even in situations where it has nothing to do with his work such as when called on to give a speech as Patch Boomhauer's best man at his wedding rehearsal dinner.
Hank was also briefly promoted to manager by Buck Strickland while helping Buck rebuild a house for Habitat for Humanity as part of Buck's community service after a drunk driving conviction, before being demoted again after he blurted out "I love you" to Buck. Unlike Buck and his business enemy, Milton Farnsworth "M. His greatest attribute is his reliability. Another trait of Hank appears to be customer loyalty and customer satisfaction. While appearing to suffer a sales slump during the month-long "Grill Stravaganza" sale, he remained confident his sales would come in at the end of the month, trusting his tried and true method of giving customers pamphlets and simply telling them to return if and only if they're "ready.
Strickland has referred to Hank as his golden goose. This virtue was tested when he threatened to quit rather than continue working at a carwash which Buck and Kahn bought stake in and continue to take verbal abuse.
He also threatened to quit unless Buck fired a new employee who was making crude jokes and sexual innuendo eventually in frustration, Hank actually dragged the new employee into the washroom and washed his mouth out with soap. Hank's work ethic extends past his occupation. He is a noted DIY enthusiast.
The meticulous detail to which he maintains his home was reflected when he opted to submit it for Parade of Homes. Hank looks up to Buck, who calls Hank "Ol' Top".You can help confirm this entry by contributing facts, media, and other evidence of notability and mutation. In one scene, Hank, at a print shop, irately asks the clerk if it looks like he knows what a JPEG is before telling the clerk that all he wants is a picture of a "god-dang hot dog".
As of December 14th, the video has over 5. On January 25th,an anonymous Imgur user posted a severely degraded screenshot of the scene with the caption reading "Do I look like I know what a "jay peg" is?

The Internet Is Debating If Hank Hill Would Vote for Donald Trump
Steve In Smash.Marvel superheroes are no strangers to crossovers, both within and outside of the comic books. This series notably excised the Fantastic Four from the character's story and used a mixture of cel shading and CGI to bring artist Jack Kirby's energetic style to life. Debuting inKing of the Hill was an adult-oriented animated series that aired on Fox. Although King of the Hill was never crude, like South Park or even the later Family Guy, it was by no means a child's cartoon.
The result is one of the strangest animated advertisements in Marvel history, which some could mistake for a fan-made mashup. The second ad borrows footage from Silver Surfer's own show to merge the cosmic hero with the familiar Rainey Street alley from King of the Hill.
Hank's dialogue is entirely original, and voiced by his actor and creator Mike Judge. Explaining to the Silver Surfer that propane could be a good alternative energy source, Hank apparently convinces him to ditch the Power Cosmic for the Strickland product.
Toward the end, Silver Surfer is seen with a propane tank on his board and wearing a Strickland Propane T-shirt, all courtesy of his new friend in Arlen, Texas. As strange as the crossover was, it's not exactly out of the ordinary for the time period.
Silver Surfer himself was extremely popular at the time, with his rise back to fame likely due to grunge and a resurgence in interest in surfing itself. For instance, at the height of Digimon's popularity in the West, the network had two " Digi-Bowl " events. The next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also looking to go into a more cosmic direction, which will likely include the Silver Surfer at some point. With any luck, moviegoers will be hearing a live-action Hank Hill saying "I tell you what" to Galactus in the near future.

It's an election year in the United States and while is a year that feels like it has lasted a decade between the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, murder hornets, the movement for racial justice, and more in just a few months, American voters will be casting their ballot for President among other important political seats.
As we get closer to the November election, political debate in all its forms has naturally been prevalent on social media, but it's not just real-life questions of who people plan to vote for that are dominating Twitter lately. People are also asking questions of fictional characters as well, especially everyone's favorite animated conservative Hank Hill. That's right, people are debating whether the King of the Hill character would vote for Donald Trump and now it's become a major trend on the social media site.
On Twitter, Hank Hill fans have been sharing their thoughts on who they think the character would vote -- or would have voted for in the election -- by examining his choices on King of the Hill. As fans of the series will recall, Hank is conservative, but he was also presented as a character who wasn't so easily placed in either a Left or Right box. The beloved animated series presented Hank Hill to be a man who was a proud Texan who was most comfortable with "traditional" values, but also a man who had a bit of a crisis of faith, as it were when he shook George W.
Bush's hand and was unimpressed, tolerated no idiots, and didn't sit well with the idea of being thought to be racist. In a nutshell, Hank Hill was presented as man with a conscience who, at times, questioned things when his values collided with reality -- a space that has fans asking if he'd be a Trump supporter. And fans have some pretty solid explanations for their choices. Those who think Hank would definitely not be a Trump supporter point his respect and love for former Texas Governor Ann Richards, being troubled by Bush's weak handshake, and a variety of other things including that Trump eats well-done steaks with ketchup.
Those who think Hank was, at least at some point, a Trump supporter, point to the idea that Hank is pretty much the exact demographic that makes up Trump's base, though some note that while Hank may have voted for Trump inhe's probably unlikely to do so again in It's a complicated question and one that's got fans talking so much that it's trending on social media so with that in mind, we've collected some of our favorite arguments on both sides of the divide so you can decide for yourself who Hank Hill would support, politically.
Read on for the debate and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Do people think Hank Hill would vote for Trump bc he lives in rural America or bc he's a registered Republican? Imo Hank Hill absolutely comes off as a "vote for the party not for the man" Republican. Hank Hill is trending cause people think he'd be a Trump supporter.
Quick reminder that Hank was a huge fan of former Gov Ann Richards. I can't believe Hank Hill is trending but since it is and this is the topic I've gotta chime in as a Texan - Hank didn't vote for Dubya because he had a weak handshake, loved Ann Richards for being tough, thought Willie was an icon, and hates anyone who eats their steak welldone pic. Hank Hill would vote for Donald Trump because Hank Hill is smart and pragmatic and a regular ole bro.

He told Bobby "Propane is God's gas. While he was a staunch Republican, he would never have stood for Trump's idiocy.Hank, along with his family wife Peggyson Bobbyand niece Luannehas a central role in most storylines. Hank's voice is provided by series co-creator Mike Judge. The Economist briefly mentioned him as one of the wisest people on television. Hank Hill stands 6'2" in height and weighs lbs. He has brown, short, wavy hair, brown eyes along with peach-pale skin.
Hank Hill Quotes All ‘King Of The Hill’ Fans Should Know By Heart
He is fairly tall with a pot-belly. The similarities in both voice and to a slightly lesser extent physical appearance between Hill and Anderson are especially noticeable when comparing early King of the Hill episodes to "Beavis and Butthead"'s final episodes or movie. Hank also inherited much of Tom's serious, conservative personality; the differences, however, reflect the differences in tone between the two series. Unlike Tom, a senior citizen whose grumpiness was typically as absurd as his antagonists' stupidity, Hank's humorously no-nonsense attitude makes him a sympathetic voice of reason within the series.
He also expresses a love of propane, similarly to Anderson's admiration of butane which ironically Hank sees as an inferior gas. Hank is known to threaten people who have ticked him off with him saying, "I'm gonna kick your ass. He originally thought his birthplace was in Texas, but on his quest to get a "Native Texan" license plate, he uncovered his lost birth certificate stating that he was born in New York, much to Hank's dismay.
After graduating from Arlen High, Hank applied to the Army with his friend, Bill, but he was denied because officials thought he would be unable to relieve himself in a time of stress.
He worked at Arlen's Jeans West during his late teen years and sold a pair of Jordache to his future employer, Buck Stricklandof Strickland Propane. At an unspecified time he also worked as a tractor salesman. Sometime at Arlen High, Hank began a relationship with Peggy Platter who would later become his wife. As seen in "Chasing Bobby", Hank owned a Maverick before his series of red trucks.
In the past, Hank was a smoker alongside Peggy and gave them up after Bobby was conceived, but he has temporarily returned to the habit on at least two occasions. Strickland and Debbie started making sexual advances towards him Hanky Panky. Hank is often regarded as the well-meaning, hard-working, traditional American. Everybody looks to Hank when they have any seemingly useless, or dull work that needs to be done.
On the other hand, Hank is easily angered when things don't go his way or when another person breaks something of his. When his dog Ladybird attacked a black repairman working on their heating system, he was accused of being racist, but it was later proven that she is only prejudiced towards repairmen in general, as she knows Hank is usually the one to make household repairs. Hank has briefly worked at Mega Lo Mart as a propane salesman trainee when he lost his job at Strickland Propane.
Hank's reserved nature probably resulted from years of verbal abuse from his father Cotton Hill. However, if sufficiently provoked, Hank is just as willing to fight like his father, often proclaiming, "I'm gonna kick your ass!
He is, for the most part, a staunch conservative he once said dreamily that he missed voting for Ronald Reagan. He was initially a huge fan of George W. Bush but had second thoughts about voting for him because of his weak handshake, and when asked if he would vote for "the other guy," presumably Al Gore, he said, "I don't know. Kennedy and Lyndon B. When Hank discovered this, he scolded Bobby not only because Bartlet is a fictitious character but also because Bartlet is considered to be a typical liberal president on the showwho proceeded to do his report on Ronald Reagan.
Hank also has a great amount of respect for former Democratic Governor Ann Richards. Political parties aside, he is very conservative and old-fashioned, naturally thinking everyone shares his sense of right and wrong and being largely ignorant of new trends and viewpoints; several episodes involve him dealing with things like yogaboy bandsetc.
Hank is portrayed as having traditional family values, and he is shown to be uncomfortable with hiring a woman to work at Strickland because she was believed to be too attractive, even though she was overly qualified; instead, he hired a man for shallowly expressing a fondness for the Dallas Cowboys and a blatantly fraudulent adoration for propane. The man was later revealed to be a completely unreliable drug addict.High Anxiety is the seventy-fourth episode of King of the Hill.
It was first aired on February 13, The episode was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedlandand directed by Adam Kuhlman. This episode features the conclusion to the Debbie Grund murder case. The storyline continues from " Hanky Panky " with Hank waiting in Debbie 's apartment for her to return, as Gayle putters around on eBay.
When Gayle lights up a hand-rolled cigarette, Hank retrieves one of his own, attempting to light it with the monogrammed lighter Liz gave him; after it fails to spark, he asks for Gayle's cigarette to light his own from the cherry. Noting the weak flame on Gayle's cigarette, Hank takes a toke on it, only to realize that Gayle's cigarette is actually a marijuana joint. Hank begins to panic, worsening when he mistakes his panicking for effects from the marijuana, and rushes to the bathroom to attempt to vomit causing his lighter to fall out of his pocket.
Believing himself too high to drive, Hank attempts to walk home Heimlich County Sheriff Mumford and his men have begun investigating, noting the discovery of a shotgun with ' Miz Liz ' engraved on it in the dumpster next to Debbie's body. Meanwhile, a Texas Ranger named Lester Payton arrives and begins a simultaneous investigation.
Sheriff Mumford attempts to question Hank, who, not wishing to be found out for smoking marijuana, passes off his reluctance to talk as grief over the loss of a coworker, to Mumford's suspicion. Back at Strickland, Liz returns control of operations to Buckwho begins planting evidence in an attempt to frame Hank for Debbie's murder.
That evening, Sheriff Mumford shows up at Hank's house to name Hank as a suspect in Debbie 's murder. Later that night, Hank proclaims his innocence to Peggy and reluctantly reveals that Liz had attempted to seduce him. When Hank learns of the evidence pointing to him as planted by Buckhe begins to believe that he actually had killed Debbie, and that it is because of a marijuana-induced blackout that he does not remember the deed.
The next day Sheriff Mumford returns with Hank's lighter from Debbie's apartment and a tape recording Buck had made of a conversation between himself and Hank, a snippet from which leads Peggy to believe that Hank had actually slept with Debbie as well as having killed her, and Hank's continued reluctance to reveal his having smoked up gets in the way of him credibly denying the mounting accusations.
Returning to Gayle, though, Hank realizes that the time of a specific eBay auction closure, whereupon Gayle had first lit up, was well after the time of Debbie's death and so Hank could not have murdered her.Normandy sr1 plans
Sheriff Mumford watches Hank leave the apartment, and shows up the next morning at the Hills' house with Gayle's story, marijuana and all, which Hank denies, still trying to hide his 'drug use' from his family.
That night an arrest is finally made: Mumford has incorrectly pinned the crime on Gayle. At a 'case-closed' dinner at Sugarfoot's, Mumford gives a speech about solving the case; Hank's unwillingness to let Gayle face unearned punishment finally overcomes his shame over the marijuana and he reveals that because the two of them had been smoking up in the apartment around the time of Debbie's death, Gayle is innocent of her murder.
Accusations begin to fly around the dining hall, but Lester Payton calls for everyone's attention and recreates the actual story, much to Sheriff Mumford's dismay, as Sheriff Mumford thinks Lester is making a fool out of him. Here is the story: with the restaurant visible from her apartment, Debbie had seen the Stricklands arrive after calling Hank and, taking Buck's shotgun one of his hidden assets in a fit of jealousy, had hidden in the dumpster waiting for them.
She got hungry after a while, went to a nearby convenience store to purchase some snacks, and attempted to juggle the food and the gun while climbing back inside the dumpster; in the process, she tripped the shotgun's hammer with her foot, thus setting off the shot that killed her. The murder is solved, and Hank apologizes to Bobby for letting him down. Bobby accepts his apology, and points out that if he took drugs, Hank would punish him.

Bobby suggests that he should be able to do the same. Hank jokingly agrees, and Bobby bans him from mowing the lawn, which is an activity that is a joy to Hank instead of a chore. This wiki.
